During the visit of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to Japan in November 2016,
India and Japan had concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation on skill development and
later bilateral Joint Statement was issued during the visit of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s visit to India in September 2017.
On the occasion of the visit of the Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and
Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan to Tokyo, India and
Japan concluded the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) on Technical Intern Training
Programme (TITP) on October 17, 2017. This MoC was signed by Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan
on the behalf of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of Government
of India along with Katsunobu Kato, Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan in
a solemn ceremony at the Ministry of Health Labour and Welfare in Tokyo, Japan.
The Technical Intern Training Program (TITP) is a work-training program providing
prestigious employment opportunities for Indian youths in Japan, administered by
the Japan International Training Cooperation Organization (JITCO), across sectors.
The program allows candidates to acquire and master the required
global expertise and learn under direct supervision of Japanese professionals accross Industries
. This internship can continue upto a maximum period of 5 years.
